This in-law unit is a quiet retreat with beautiful air purifying plants. With 288 square feet there is plenty of space for you to relax. The queen bed is set away from the side wall so there is room for you enter/exit the bed from either side. The love seat and coffee table provide an easy place to watch a show or movie. We have provided a large screen tv with a Roku for you to access your favorite streaming apps (Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime). The kitchen table is easily converted from a small table for 2 into a larger workspace - great for laying out a project.
I am happy to provide complimentary tea and coffee for making a cup of whatever you desire. The kitchen is equipped with a Chemex coffee pot for a nice pour over brew, a toaster oven, a full size gas stove with an oven, a full size fridge and an instant hot water dispenser at the sink. There are also plenty of pots, pans, casserole dishes, and cooking utensils for your cooking pleasure.
The front patio area is for the exclusive use for the guest. There is one step up from the patio to the porch and one step from the porch to the unit. Upon request, we can provide ramps for wheelchair or walker access.
The entire unit is easily converted into a wheelchair accessible space. We will gladly work with you and your needs. The queen bed can also be moved closer to the wall to provide more space. In some cases we also remove the door to the bathroom and provide a bench so a guest can sit/slide over to the tub/shower and toilet. A handheld attachment has been installed in the shower. Please, inquire about other necessary adjustments to make your stay more comfortable.

This spacious studio has a proper entryway with hardwood floors and provides plenty of space for you to come in and set your stuff down. Upon entry there is a large walk-in closet for all of your clothing and storage needs. We have also provided a broom with dust pan, a mop and a stick vacuum, which are stored in this closet.
To the right of the entryway is a bright and pleasant little kitchen with a marmoleum floor. There is a full sized fridge and a 5 burner gas stove with a standard oven. The kitchen sink is set beneath a nice window with a bamboo shade. The original built-in cabinetry is floor to ceiling. The cabinet right of the sink is a "cooler cabinet", which traditionally was used to keep fruits and vegetables cool. The wide cabinet has an abundance of storage room and is fully stocked with everything you need. There is also a tall top table with 2 stools. Placed against the wall it provides extra counter space during meal preparation. Turned to the side it easily accommodates room for 2 to dine.
The living area is left of the entryway, and also has hardwood floors. There is a queen sized bed with a waterproof mattress protector, a mattress topper, pillows, down comforter and quality sheets. The lounging area has a grey tufted loveseat, a dresser, a shabby chic desk in the alcove closet, and an area rug to define the space. The tv is on top of the dresser and is easily viewed from the love seat or the bed. TV comes equipped with Netflix, Prime and Hulu, just log in to your own account. The 3 double-paned windows have black out shades, and long white curtains so you can make it really dark, or let in a little light. There is an electric wall heater which keeps the unit nice and warm. We have also included a portable air purifier.
The bathroom has a 1920's hexagonal tile floor, a tub/shower combo with a new shower head, toilet, and a small sink. There are open shelves above the toilet which provide plenty of room for extra linens, and toiletries. There is an additional small medicine cabinet above the towel rack for closed storage.
The sun sets on the back side of the building and makes for very enjoyable afternoon/evening light which can be enjoyed on the shared back deck.
No laundry on-site but there is a laundromat 1 1/2 blocks away on Claremont Avenue.
Rockridge Bart is 4/10ths of a mile away, AC transit and Casual Carpool are right out front.
College Avenue is full of local shops and restaurants. Many restaurants now have outdoor dining and all are providing wonderful meals to take home. We are walking distance to Trader Joe's, the Market Hall, and Safeway.
